Spectators: 10854 (Terracing: 8142, Seating: 2496, VIP seats: 216) Floriana Celtics's Kyle Thake started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mats Sangolt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Koray Baycan, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 17th minute Kyle Thake shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Tanti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Floriana Celtics's Giorgio Caruana ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aaron Tanti. Aaron Tanti yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 22 minutes into the match, Eleven Young Elephants's goalkeeper Aaron Tanti had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giorgio Caruana. Aaron Tanti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyle Thake, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Aaron Tanti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyle Thake in the 27th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Eleven Young Elephants's zone, Giorgio Caruana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The crowd rose to their feet as Floriana Celtics's Kyle Thake slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aaron Tanti. That made the score 3-0 after 31 minutes of play. 33 minutes into the match, Eleven Young Elephants's goalkeeper Aaron Tanti had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vihren Sirenyakov. Aaron Tanti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godwin Montesin in the 37th minute of play. If Giorgio Caruana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aaron Tanti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyle Thake, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute, Godwin Montesin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Floriana Celtics fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. After 47 played minutes Floriana Celtics got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Vella. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Koray Baycan made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vihren Sirenyakov in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aaron Tanti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 55th minute Godwin Montesin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Tanti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aaron Tanti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giorgio Caruana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65thth minute of the game Kyle Thake who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Eleven Young Elephants's Aaron Tanti was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aaron Tanti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyle Thake, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Aaron Tanti was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 91st match minute, Eleven Young Elephants was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darren Carabott to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd minute Edward Ellis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Tanti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Godwin Montesin scored 7-0 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aaron Tanti, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
