The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thiago Gol took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jan de Boer. Jan de Boer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 41 minutes into the match, SCs StarS's goalkeeper Petr Čech had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wilco Heida. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilco Heida got free with Petr Čech in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Henk van Zwieten made a kick off. Petr Čech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnold Pool in the 52nd minute of play. Jan de Boer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thiago Gol in the 53rd minute of the match. Sons of Strategy's defense didn't have a chance, in the 58th minute, when Thiago Gol scored to the left of an out of position Jan de Boer, making the score, 1-4. SCs StarS's Robert de Graaf was substituted for Sander Daniel. Sons of Strategy's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Wilco Heida in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Sons of Strategy getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Arnold Pool hit a great ball.
