Ernesto Riveras charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The Los Rios AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Basilio Monroy should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jesús Boyd made a kick off. Basilio Monroy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jesús Boyd in the 54th minute of play. After some careless play in the Los Rios AD defense, Jesús Boyd kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Basilio Monroy. The Los Rios AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Basilio Monroy should have stopped the shot. Mauro Canal took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basilio Monroy. Basilio Monroy dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Basilio Monroy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Canal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Manny Lugo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adolfo Zambrano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faustino Robledo in the 74th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Los Rios AD's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Canal came free, but Basilio Monroy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the game, Mauro Canal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Basilio Monroy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Anthony Canal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Basilio Monroy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paco Montañas took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basilio Monroy. Basilio Monroy dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0.
